Restaurant Review: Byblos Deli

Spring weather has finally arrived in Bellevue! We were happy to walk a few blocks to enjoy a quick outdoor lunch today at Byblos Deli. Byblos is a small grocery store with a few rows of Mediterranean groceries and a deli counter serving up a variety of tasty sandwiches, spreads, and salads. Our favorite items include the lamb and beef gyro wrap, the falafel wrap, and the veggie platter (falafel, hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbouli, and a warm pita), but we’re also looking forward to trying some less familiar items, such as the lahmajune (Middle Eastern flatbread topped with minced meat and vegetables), or the bastirma (sliced cured beef) wrap sandwich. If you’re looking for something a bit simpler, Byblos’s menu also includes sweet and savory crepes. Try the crepe jardin (mozzarella and veggies) or the crepe citron (butter, sugar, and lemon), and finish off your meal with a Turkish coffee. Delicious!

Although Byblos has been in business for a few years, it somehow managed to stay off our radar until recently. Fortunately, we know now that Byblos has delicious food and friendly service—and it’s located just a few blocks up the street from our office here at Rockwell. The deli currently has only a few small tables, but more tables will be available once the deli finishes its expansion into the space next door. And of course, our real estate students can always take their food to go and eat it back here at Rockwell. Nothing like enjoying a great lunch while studying for the real estate exam!
