Restaurant Review: Mr. Gyros food truck

Here at Rockwell, we take lunchtime very seriously. We also love Mediterranean food and we love food trucks. Imagine our joy when we learned that a food truck from one of our favorite Seattle restaurants, Mr. Gyros, has started popping up regularly on the Microsoft campus, just a few miles from our real estate school in Bellevue. We’ve been big fans of Mr. Gyros (both at their original location in Greenwood as well as the Ballard location that opened a few years back), but now we can get our Mr. Gyros fix here on the Eastside as well.

The food truck offers a condensed menu that includes the Mr. Gyros signature dish: pita wrap sandwiches stuffed with cucumber, red onion, tzatziki sauce, and your choice of gyros meat (seasoned pit-roasted lamb and beef) or falafel (freshly fried chickpea patties). If you’re looking for something a bit lighter, go for the Greek salad, perhaps topped with gyros meat. Don’t miss the delicious Greek fries—hot, crispy, and sprinkled with feta and oregano. Other tasty offerings include lamb shawarma, pita bread with hummus, and baklava. Prices are reasonable, and the service is as famously friendly as it is at their brick and mortar locations.

The truck is open from 11am to 2pm, Monday-Friday, rotating between different buildings on the Microsoft campus. The specific location is posted each morning on Twitter: www.twitter.com/mrgyroseattle.

You can find more information at www.mrgyroseattle.com/truck.html (but note that the address listed is NOT the actual food truck location; be sure to check Twitter to find the correct spot).
