Here's another restaurant review, to help our Bellevue real estate students find good eats!
One of our favorite new lunch spots isn’t technically a restaurant—it’s a taco truck. We’re big fans of mobile food trucks, so we were thrilled when Los Chilangos recently set up shop across the street from our office complex. Like most taco trucks, Los Chilangos offers carne asada (steak), pollo (chicken), and cabeza (beef cheek) tacos, but our favorite is the tacos al pastor: small, soft corn tortillas, piled high with marinated, spit-roasted pork and garnished with chopped onion, cilantro, and fresh pineapple. Add a squeeze of lime and a little hot sauce if you like. Delicious!
Other options include burritos, quesadillas, tortas (sandwiches), banana leaf-wrapped tamales, and huaraches (fried masa cakes topped with beans, meat, and cheese). We’ve heard great things about the chicken-mole sauce tamales and tortas in particular, and plan to try them next. In fact, we plan to work our way through the entire menu!
Los Chilangos also offers breakfast burritos and tortas stuffed with your choice of carne asada, chorizo, ham, or grilled vegetables, along with beans, egg, cheese, and pico de gallo. We treated ourselves to some chorizo breakfast burritos this morning and they truly hit the spot.
As if the great food wasn’t enough, the prices are more than reasonable, portions are extremely generous,
and the service is fast and friendly.
Look for the Los Chilangos truck in a parking lot near the intersection of 130th Ave. NE and Northup Way in Bellevue (next to the Arco gas station). (Phone: 425.221.5072; Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Los-Chilangos-Taquizas-Banquets-Catering/181632965213214?sk=wall)
